We rejoice and spread love wherever we go

Hebrews 13:16
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”

Dear Zoya Supporters,

Zoya was blessed to embark on another mission to the country of Guatemala this year.  This was a HUMANitarian mission to reach and touch lives by providing homes, food, and other relief to those in dire need.  A group of 11, with Jesus at the center, is what made this trip a total success for His honor & glory.

We achieved several things during our mission.  We built 6 houses, provided bags of food to almost 200 families,  gave about 160+ pairs of shoes & socks to children through our washing of the feet ceremony, and we set-up counseling for parents and young students.  We also were able to impact eternity by sharing the gospel–91 people, including 63 children, accepted Jesus in their hearts!

This mission was unique in that we were able to minister to many lives in groups and via one-on-one sessions with single mothers and students.  It was incredible to hear some of the testimonies from children, high school students, single mothers and parents.  One heartfelt story in particular that touched me was from the father of one of the families whose house we built.  He shared that when he was 10 years old, on the very spot we built his new home, his father was killed in an earthquake.  And it was there, so many years later, he received a blessing that he couldn’t have ever imagined when Zoya Ministries presented him the keys to his family’s new home.

Another story was of a young man who for years had been carrying anger towards his father.  He wanted to kill his father and then kill himself too after he found out he was conceived after his mother was raped.  He felt worthless and without purpose.  The evening our mission team leader gave his testimony and made an alter call, the young man gave his life to Christ and instantly, all that anger and suicidal thoughts vanished.  He felt the peace of God come over him and the feelings of hate, anger, resentment were replaced with forgiveness.

You see, many of us think, “If I was a millionaire, I could help those in need.” Or, “If I had a lot of time, I would visit those without a family.” Or,   “If I was famous, I would establish a campaign to finish hunger and provide medicine.”  But those things don’t matter when it comes to saving a life.  It costs nothing to give a smile, a hug, words of encouragement, or even just a moment of time.  You don’t need vast resources to make another human being feel valued and loved.  We are ALL called by God to love one another.  We are ALL called by God to love others just as much as He loves us.  My friend, what is getting in the way of you making a difference? God gave you a heart and ability to love others.   I invite you today to partner with Zoya to make a difference in your community, in the world and in eternity.

In His love,

Tony Rodriguez
